Hello from Koh Tao.
We haven’t been doing too well with keeping up to date with the blogs recently, but to be honest there hasn’t been much to report.
After saying goodbye to the families we set off to Koh Tao. On arriving we got talking to a girl from the Big Blue Diving Centre and decided to book our PADI Course with them. Which is basically a 4 day course, teaching you all you need to know about Scuba Diving to become a certified diver. Our plan was to do this so in Australia etc it would be a lot cheaper.
Because we booked our diving with Big Blue we got free accommodation with them which was great. That night we had our introduction and we were feeling quite excited to get started the following day.
The next day started with a theory in the morning and our first dive in the afternoon. Well after our diving we both realised that it wasn’t for us, neither of us really enjoyed it and felt it would have been a waste of money to continue doing something that we don’t really enjoy. So that was the end of the Scuba Diving.
We spent the next 5 days on Koh Tao chilling out at our nice little beach bungalow. The weather has been quite good so was nice to just relax on the beach. We did spent one day doing a tour of the island where we got some amazing view points.
On the Sunday night we went out for what turned into quite a boozy night. We went to watch the Man U game and ended up meeting an Irish couple we knew from diving and they had a group of about 10 people, so the drinking games started and well the following day was spent in bed, but it was a good night.
Apart from that, there is not much else to report. Just been on the beach most days, taking advantage of the sunshine. Koh Tao is a really cool place. Its got the whole chilled out/backpacker vibe and plenty bars/restaurants to choose from. Definitely been worth the stop here.
Tomorrow we are off to Koh Phangan, where we have 5 nights and more importantly the full moon party. We are both pretty excited about, heard so many stories so its now time to see what all the fuss is about.
I am sure our next blog will have a few more stories to tell.
Until then......
