Sheridan Wyoming is just to the east of the Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Wilderness Area. Crossing the mountains involves a long climb up and a long drop down. We took the road that went through Granite Pass (9000 feet) and on to Cody; named for Buffalo Bill Cody.
We were supposed to swap our car at Cody as it was due for a service. They offered us a small car so I asked them to organise the service and we would continue in the existing vehicle. They were obliging and we had lunch while we waited.
Cody leads to the east entrance for Yellowstone and we had to cross the park to get to our hotel in West Yellowstone (Montana). Drivers in Yellowstone are pathetic. I wish I had a bulldozer rather than a soft steel car. They say the bison hold up traffic but its the drivers that hold up the traffic to get their 900th picture of a bison's rear end.
The next two days will be around Yellowstone National Park
