Starting from West Yellowstone we retraced our route from two days ago past the geyser area and Old Faithful and on to the Grand Teton National Park. The main feature is the Teton Range which is a great backdrop to the lakes and rivers of the valley.
At Jackson Lake we were advised to go to where black bears might be picking berries. Maureen was keen to see a bear and sure enough, one came down the side of the hill where we were driving. Maureen had her window down and suddenly there was the bear - it almost gave her a kiss.
We picniced by the lake overlooking the Teton Range. It was a great view. And the views go on and on and on....
Jenny Lake is a great foreground for views of the range. We then crossed the range through Teton Pass - very steep climb to 2570 meters - and finished tonight at Driggs. Had tea at the airport where we were able to view a collection of old fighter jets while we waited for our meal. A jet taxied by our table and took off shaking the place.
Tomorrow we catch up with Glendon & Jacinda. They are looking for red paint to help us paint the town.
