Today we covered the northern loop of Yellowstone National Park. From West Yellowstone where we are staying, both the south and north loops are 200 km. It is several stories high and the largest log building in the world. It was built in 1903 so that may explain why you don't see buildings like it anymore. Sheridan Wyoming is just to the east of the Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Wilderness Area. Crossing the mountains involves a long climb up and a long drop down. We took the road that went through Granite Pass (9000 feet) and on to Cody; named for Buffalo Bill Cody. We were supposed to swap our car at Cody as it was due for a service. They offered us a small car so I asked them to organise the service and we would continue in the existing vehicle. They ...
