Well we loose Kim to to the hens party today but before she goes she is off to get her toe and finger nails painted for the wedding which is now only a week to 10 days away. While this happenings Shirley and I go shopping for food but everything is shut and we have no idea why. Our search takes us far and wide and we end up lost. Here we go again,Shirley gets the s***s with me cause I'm suppose to know how the bloody google maps work but the maps keep spinning and we are in fact walking around in circles. We call Kim ,tell her what street we are on and she is able to talk us home. Shirley is calming down now and we get back in time to say goodbye .
Now that is over we have what ever we have in the frig for lunch then head off to the famous shopping area called La Rambla the most famous street in Barcelona and links Plaza de Catalunya with the old port. What to buy. It is one of the city's main tourist hubs and a good place to shop for souvenirs. You can also find plenty of traditional confectioners for buying sweet souvenirs.
The building are beautiful and there are hundreds of people, plus many food outlets and restaurants but as something outstanding I'm not to sure about that. Shirley had researched the market here but they also were shut and it was there that we found out why, it was Barcelona's Independence Day. We start our walk back but when we met the main road the independence march was in full swing ,chanting clapping drumming and flags waving ,it seemed very emotional.
We were both starting to feel the aching in our feet and that is because we have walked 17;336 step roughly 10.46 KM . Bed time calls to us fairly quickly once we stop moving and it now that we both wish you good night .
Loving the tour John and Shirley
