It is early Monday morning and it is another movement day from Budapest to Ljubljana. It's just a short walk to the Metro down the escalator ,on board and away we go. Sounds good but I put us on the right train but going the wrong way. We didn't know until we reach the stop and there were no international buses. Luckily we were able to stop a man and he was kind enough to direct us to the right platform and tell us how many stop we needed to travel before should get off.
The bus leaves on time and 7 hrs later we are at our destination Ljubljana in Slovenia.it has been stinking hot all the with temperatures in the High30s so first stop off the bus is a small pub at the bus station thus the tradition is up held, from here to our B&B takes no time and within 30 minute we are inside. It is a beautiful apartment seems to have every thing but a TV. We settle in then we need to get supplies, water bread and milk.
The next day is a quite one we explore the area around us and it reminds us of Switzerland ,same types of building ,flower boxes on the window sill . It was market day so the squares that are in every city we have been in so far was full of little stalls with all sort of things.
The third day brought an adventure to lake areas and a gorge. The first of these was lakes Bohjin the peaceful lake formed from the melting of a glacier thousands of years ago, a beautiful spot for tourist photos and activities, swimming canoeing and pladdle boarding, also hiking trails and push bike trail. Our guide told me, until a few years ago, Roughly 15 to20 it use to freeze in winter but no such luck any more. The next spot was lake Bled again beautiful with the added attraction of a castle and a church on an island. Shirley and I choose to get rowed over to the island and see what was there . Unfortunately no much. The boat take us back but as we get close to the wharf these big black clouds and a crack of thunder appear over the mountains,we made it ashore just in time and down the rain came , for about 30 minutes it was pissing down, this was a good reason to stop for lunch. Shirley had trout and I sea bass
Stop 3 Vintgar Gorge,up in the Julianne Mountains . The walk through here is so peaceful with the rushing water adding is own beat to walk to. The walk ways have been install to make it safer. The water cascades in some areas and gently meanders in others ,the forest land is green and lush on the steep slopes. The walk is over before you know it but it was a calming experience, there is something about moving water, I think.
ok that's all hope that catches you up . Another 13 k walking Day today
love to all
