Hi again,
Today we have decided to explore the eastern side of Budapest. To do this will we catch the 2B tram just near the start of the Margret Bridge. The tram take us past the better off parts of Budapest and drops off near our destination ,the Gellert Thermal bath.
Here we find five thermal pools ranging from 16c to 38c plus a normal pool for swimming. We spent near on 2 and a half hours here, very enjoyable .
on leaving the pool we noticed a Nanc, not another bloody church up on the hill. This was the church of Pauline was established by monks 150 years after Joseph ll banned the religious order from Hungry, The 15 monks who had been in exile in Poland return to Budapest to reopen the cave church, The church is a following of Hungry patron saint the Virgin Mary. Shirley and I both enjoyed the record tour while we walked through the caves.
From here we catch the tram back, but from the tram we could see all these nice looking eating places so why not ,let's get off and try one for our lunch. There was a different feel here ,well dressed waiter staff ,a friendlier approach to talking to the customer ,we had crossed into the higher rank township. The restaurant we ate at was the Corso and the helpful ,polite service made this an adventure to remember .This was a Lebanese restaurant ,we had eggplant and hummus and Lebanese bread ,really nice.
Back to the appartment snooze time, getting ready for dinner at VatVarjus fine dinning ,a 25 minute walk . This time we are in the west end but this restaurant has been family owned for forty years. The choose of dishes was as Hungry as it could get. Shirley still not the best ,so the chicken soup was what she went for and myself schnitzel with tangy potatoe salad. This is day 4 over and new adventure on day 5 is coming.
Goodnight ,see you all tomorrow,
John & Shirley
