Day 16 14/9/2018
How to loose a Day
Today is our first full day in Split and the major thing to do is the washing. So doctor google is called in and there are three we can go to , of course we pick the closest, has good reviews.Have breaky and by 9 we are off on this new adventure . It is quite good as google has shown us another way to get to the old town without the steep hill, we follow it and get to see how the the old town is set up, small cobble stone alley ways, Cemitric houses ,this goes on for block after block.
Find the laundry mat, drop the washing, the into the place area to shop and watch. The shopping is at the Game of thrones place were we get our picture taken on the Iron Throne ,buy Few items then onward, around we go looking at different stuff trying to kill time to watch the imaginary show we have read about in planet earth Croatia . It is 11.00 and that means there is and hour before the performance so we move to a go vantage point , as soon as we sit a man comes to and say “ unless you buy something you can’t sit here” ,we buy water bottle , it is a very small bottle that cost 29 Kuna, roughly $7. Time goes as it does and at last it begins , the Roman Emperor is to enter the square ,with full military escort ,stand before the slave and bid them well . We assumed this would take at least half an hour was over in 3minutes, we were disappointed to say the least, I wasn’t so much as it gave us time to get back to watch the scores update of the footy.
Footy over ,great game by the score line ,time to swim, today I ticked another thing off the bucket list ,I swam in the Adriatic Sea, it was nice but in the deeper water quite cold, Shirley as per usual sat upon the rock wall like the beautiful mermaid she is.
Let’s eat out ,back to the old town and this time nothing fancy ,just something old, noodles with chicken and veggie ,Mong beans baby corn ,served in the cardboard boxes you see in the American TV.
After this delicious meal we walked again but this time along the waterfront . At night it full of small quaint restaurant which seat no more then 20 people ,but every alley would have 2-3 .we came across this stage set up with TV cameras ,it was live board cast of a children fundraiser which include all the top singers in Croatia plus others.
We watched this for over and hour was great , can help dancing to good music even if you don’t know what their sing about. Legs are weary time to sit ,to sit means to have our last drink in Split as we leave tomorrow . We have had a ball here ,it is a beautiful spot to stay and there is plenty of things to do.
So again we say goodbye for now.
