Saturday 15th March at BusseltonAnother cloudy start to the day and a couple of showers in the morning but it cleared in the afternoon. We went to look where the 2 oceans meet but there was not much to see.Maybe a line of buoys or someone stood with one of those red strobe pointers would help. There is a lighthouse on the headland but we just missed one tour and it was raining so we moved on.Karen our satellite navigation does not like forests and she goes into a frenzy when we drive through one.She keeps recalculating, one minute she has on the right road and the next she has us in a field heading for a vast expanse of water. She just can't cope so we had to lock her in the glove compartment and go back to old fashioned maps.We did get on the wrong road but it worked out all right because we came to one of the many caves in this area which are open to the public. They are supposed to be some of the best in Australia and we saw Lake cave or rather Joe did I read the notice about the 300 steps and strenuous physical exertion and went for a cup of tea and then sat and waited for my intrepid tree climber/cave man to come back.We stopped in Margaret River that's the name of a town just in case you thought we had completely flipped and just had a wander round before we made our way to Busselton where we have booked in for 3 nights. The area looks interesting especially if you like wine or beer there are over 100 cellar doors and 5 breweries within about an hours drive. We really must take up drinking. There's also a fudge factory, a chocolate factory and cheese, other gourmet delights and some of the bigger wineries have restaurants so we should be able to put together a gourmet tour of our own. There are also surfing beaches which are reckoned to be some of the best not just to surf but also to watch others risking their necks.I think even my action man here will draw the line at surfing.
