Arrived in Phuket yesterday around 2pm. I tried but could not get a window seat. I could tell from the aisle though how beautiful the view was. So many small islands in the big blue ocean.
It was almost all white people on my flight which was a first for this trip. I feel like I am in Cancun. I'm staying at a beach resort close to the airport for one night and I will get picked up in the morning for my scuba trip. The resort is beautiful. The beach in front of this hotel is not the best though. It is dirty. I was able to walk down the beach to another resort where the Beach was nicer and had a swim there. Then I swam in the resorts infinity pool and watched a storm blow in. When it rains, it really rains here. I realized I like the rain when it is so warm out and I don't have to worry about getting wet.
Then I went for for some dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The lobster on the menu said 350TBH per 100g. Which is like $10. So I asked the waiter how much for 1 lobster thinking lobster would be cheap here. Nope not the case. He said 450 and I thought he meant 450TBH but he really meant 450g. So I enjoyed my lobster but when my bill arrived I had a surprise. I ended up paying $50 for the lobster. That sucked and i will have to pay more attention from now on.
I went to bed super early because I'm still not adjusted to this time zone. And now I'm up at 330am writing this blog because I can't sleep anymore. In three hours I get picked up to go on the scuba boat. I am so excited!! I will be on the liveboard for 2 days but I will post agin when I have Wi-fi and tell you all about my scuba fun.
