Today I checked out of my hotel and went to a different hotel close to a nice beach. The service at my previous hotel was amazing. When I checked out, I said I needed a taxi to this other hotel. They were unable to reach the cab company so the young man working the front desk drove me himself. He just graduated from an international degree in advertising at the university in Bangkok. He is now helping his aunt and uncle with the hotel in Phuket. He stopped on the way to the hotel so I could take a picture from the beautiful viewpoint. The viewpoint looks over kata noi beach, kata beach and karon beach. It was a clear day too so it was perfect.
I am staying at the Foto Hotel in Kata before I catch my flight back to Bangkok o Monday. The Foto hotel is on a cliff overlooking Kata noi bay. There is a photo theme around the hotel.
Once I checked in, I walked down to the gorgeous beach. I tried to go swimming but the waves were really strong. I lost my headband in the strong waves:(
Then I just relaxed in my chair. I got a mango smoothie from the vendor on the beach. She peeled the mango right in front of me and blended it with bottled water and ice. It was delicious.
I was hiding from the sun under my umbrella and listening to music on my iPhone. Just getting educated for Sasquatch. The only vendor that came by today was selling headbands. It was perfect because I had just lost mine and I needed some protection from the strong sun. I bought a green bandana type one.
Right behind the beach is an expensive resort. I really had to go to the bathroom but didn't want to go back into the water. So I just walked into the resort like I owed the place and the security guard never questioned me. I even took a swim in their pool to get the sand out of my bathing suit.
Then I ordered some watermelon from the beach vendor. She cut it up right in front of me. I thought it would be like one plate but she just kept cutting. I tried to tell her only a little not all of the watermelon. In the end I had two big plates full and she still kept cutting. Eventually I said I only want one and took the one plate. She was confused and thought i was weird, but what does she expect for me to eat that huge watermelon in one sitting. She was really nice though and i will definitely go back there again tomorrow.
Then I watched the sun go down from my beach chair. It was gorgeous. Once the sun went down I hiked back up to my hotel. I went to the pool area to get a picture of the sunset from the roof top. The pool area is beautiful in the evening. They have colorful lights and the pool changes colors. The view is gorgeous too. I had a bit of a heat rash so I cooled off and went for a swim in the pool. It was a great day.
