UK Road Trip, Summer 2017
A quick drive to York and off for our walking tour of this walled city. Amidst the wonders of the Roman, Medieval and Victorian ruins and buildings, the most eventful part of the tour was Marv falling up the stairs and smacking his nose. Despite the blood, he carried on!
After a short rest, we were back in the city for dinner - French. On our way home we happened upon a pub that was singing out to us, literally. Friday night is "pub singing" which was amazing. A large group of fiddles, a banjo, flutes, a washboard and wonderful voices singing British folk music. Brilliant!

Lois Goodstein York is home to the oldest working convent in England, and you can even book bed and breakfast with the nuns at the Bar Convent! Puts Shakespeare’s “Get thee to a nunnery” in a whole new light. But heads up from their website: “Please note that we do not take bookings from stag or hen parties or similar.”
Laura Glad Marvin survived the stumble. What song did you two sing?
