Appropriate to start our last day of touring with yet another impressive cathedral. Actually an abbey - Westminster. The most impressive collection of tombs and the most crowded cathedral we've seen. We then saw (from the outside) Shakespeare's Globe Theater and the Tower of London. We happened upon a terrific market and crossed the London Bridge. Ended the day at Harrod's. Decided to start the day getting theater tickets. Unfortunately, that proved impossible so we switched gears and went to watch the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. Long process but worth the time. Then to the Churchill War Rooms. Definitely worth the time. I am amazed at the crowds and the frenetic pace of this city. So much to see and do.

Spent a lot of time today exploring time at the Prime Meridian. Went to Greenwich to the Royal Observatory begun in 1675 under Charles II. Amazing how time and longitude emerged to save ships from crashing. More wandering around London, then on to our first show, An American in Paris. London's show scene is incredible. Hope to take advantage of it in the coming days.

Began the day late. Slept in because it was our first morning without a proper English breakfast. Caught the Underground to Paddington and the train to Windsor. Connection perfection! Spent the day at Windsor. Spectacular castle - everything a castle should be. Arrived back in London and started to wander around. I think we saw every tourist location and then some - Piccadilly, Trafalgar, Leicester, Parliament, Big Ben, the Eye, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Pala...

Left our lovely B&B after another incredible breakfast and got to the station early enough to catch an earlier train than planned. Took the train to London and the Underground to our hotel before the rain! Went to the British Museum and Library. Both brilliant! Didn't miss the rain this time. Got to our hotel seriously wet. Spent the evening drying off!
