As the weather was amazing we decided to pull over on our way to Mackay and enjoy breakfast in the glorious sunshine surrounded by hundreds of beautiful butterflies, it was certainly more enjoyable than corn flakes at 47 Park Row!
We arrived in the small town of Mackay where we decided to chill out for the day enjoying a nice walk around the botanical gardens before spending the afternoon exploring the surrounding area where we were lucky to come across the very pretty and extremely secluded Sarina Beach. At about 1km in length and with only two other people on the whole beach we loved soaking up some sun in total peace and quiet!
Like the cowards we are we took the caution signs regarding jelly fish to mean a complete and final STAY OUT of the sea and decided to keep a safe distance… although we did see one of the girls on the beach brave the water with no ill effects so I’m sure we would have been fine but knowing Jo’s luck she would have been sprawled out on the beach requiring CPR and ironically being the only person who could actually administer it!
All in all a great little spot for a quiet relaxing day!
