We had a lovely day at Leitchfield National Park and we drove to The Lost City which was about 10 &1/2km off the main road, it was a slow trip but well worth it. It was lovely to see the water flowing at Florence Falls and Wangi Falls as rain has been very scarce up this way.

HOT & HUMID!!! We arrived in Darwin last Sunday and made our special delivery to Val & Frits (Brads guitar which we had bought with us from Brisbane). Val offered their lawn for us to park the van on for the 2 weeks that we were to be in Darwin (this was so nice of her and Frits to offer). We were a bit ahead of shedule so our time in Darwin is a bit longer than first thought. Whilst in Darwin we have had few things to do, 4 new tyres for the ute, 50,000km service for the ute, service & a couple of other things for the van. We have done approx 18,000kms since leaving home in July.

Today was the first big storm for the season and boy it was a rippa, lots of rain, thunder and lightening. Well, at least we know that the van is waterproof and it now has had a good wash. The frogs could be heard loud and clear.

Jim decided to go on a fishing trip this morning in Darwin Harbour, off he went at 4.45am and yes he arrived home empty handed again, he did catch 2 but they had to be thrown back (so he said) a photo would be nice. Rama (Val's son) is taking Jim fishing on Thursday so he will have one last chance to catch some fish in Darwin before we leave.

Next Sat morning we fly to Byron Bay for the wedding and arrive back late Monday night, then we are off back down to Katherine and we will start to make our way towards W.A. Looking forward to having cooler nights.

Thank you to all those people who sent their birthday wishes, I had a great day and we went to Skycity Casino for dinner where we had the seafood buffet, it was lovely.

Tonight we are going out with Val, Frits and their family for dinner for their 34th wedding anniversary celebrations.

Our time in Darwin with Val, Frits and their family has been lovely, but it has reinforced to us that we are not suited to the humidity or heat of this area, next visit will be at a different time of year.
