Thursday night's dinner at Morning Glory lived up to expectation. We had 2 lovely entrees, fried wontons with crabmeat and white rose dumplings. The wontons were served flat like bruschetta and were delicious. For main course I had a beef & cinnamon dish and Peter had a prawn curry. Both were lovely. We had a drink each and the bill came to about $32 which is expensive by Hoi An standards but well worth it. On Friday we walked into town and went to a few tour agents to get flight prices to Cambodia. There was such variety in both information and price that we decided we'd look online and do it ourselves. Peter has booked an ocean fishing tour for Saturday.
We ate lunch in a restaurant on the Main Street leading back to our hotel. We both had what is called a sandwich but is a baguette with filling. I had a roast pork one and Peter had a chicken one. They both had some sort of pâté in the bottom and lettuce, coriander and heaven knows what else. I also had a refreshing drink with lemon basil seeds (they looked like caviar), ginger and black grape jelly squares. It was sweet and spicy and very refreshing. The total for lunch was about $9.
We spent the afternoon by the pool again. Each night as we've wandered home there has been lightening flashing in the sky and it rained on Wednesday night. Last night as we were coming home the area near the bridge was crowded with people, many locals amongst them. There were lots of small boats on the river and many lanterns with candles in them were being floated on the river. The sight was beautiful! Apparently it was because it was a full moon last night so this was their full moon festival.
