Our final two days in Australia were spent in Cape Tribulation, north of Cairns. We were picked up from our accomodation early on the 31st and we went to the Daintree River and got an hours cruise. We saw Crocodiles including the dominant male of the river "Scarface" he was around four metres in length and very scary looking. We arrived in Cairns late afternoon on the 29th of May. We had a little hassle with our accomodation and ended up having to find somewhere else to stay. At this point its after 3pm and Grant decides that its at this very moment he has to do a bungee jump before we leave Australia. We got into Mission Beach really late on the 27th May. The following day we got the bus from our hostel to Mission Beach. We had a walk along the beach and then a look round the shops in the area (there are only about 5). We then sat in a nice cafe and had something to eat before heading back to our hostel. On the 26th we headed from Airlie Beach to Townsville and caught the ferry over to Magnetic Island. We stayed at Kaola sanctuary. We had the morning at the sanctuary the following morning and went on the guided tour. There were twelve of us in the group and we got to hold a crocodile, cockatoo, snake and lizard. We arrived into Airlie Beach on the 22nd at around 7am and could not check into our room until 1pm. So we dropped our bags off and headed to the lagoon area and sunbathed there. In the afternoon we checked in and went to the office to confirm our sailing trip for the following day.
