Thursday 30th we went to the famous Paddy's market in Sydney and had a look round the shops in Market Hall. We then went for a walk along the Chinatown district. Afterward we just went a general wander around the city centre to find our bearings.

On Friday we got the ferry from Balmain to Circular Quay beside the opera house. It was a fantastic view as we came up to Sydney harbour bridge and under it and then the opera house sits beside it on the left hand side. We had a walk round the opera house and the harbour area. We then went to The Rocks which is a small shopping area next to the harbour bridge which was lovely to walk around as it was a sunny day. We then made our way to the Sydney Tower and got great views from the top of it.

Yesterday we went to the local market in Balmain and a wander round the shops in Balmain. They are lovely independent shops and lots of nice things in them. We then made our way over to the outdoor markets and shops in Paddington as well, which is just outside the centre of Sydney. We had dinner in Chinatown. Then we met the couple we had met on our trip in Alice Springs as they are over in Sydney for a year teaching from England. So we went to the Opera House Bar under the Opera House which had great views out onto the harbour and bridge.

Today we went up to Palm Beach which is better known as "Summer Bay". We stopped and had lunch and drove back down the coast to the city. We stayed in for some dinner with the people we are staying with and Lynne's aunt Evelyn.
