Hello,

Yesterday Grant and I stayed in for a while out of the sun and relaxed, it really does get too hot!

In the afternoon we wlaked across the road to the Maracana football stadium and did the tour. Grant enjoyed this thoroughly and it really is a huge stadium. They hold concerts there as well as football matches. When they were building the stadium in 1950 they ran out of money, so there is a whole section of seats that people got to buy. They were the same price as a flat, however, you get to see anything that´s held in the stadium from Madonna to all the world cup games in 2014, or you could rent the seat out for an event.

Today we decided to stay indoors in the morning again. Found a nice mall in the South of Rio, had armani and ck etc, a pity we can´t buy anything! We did stop and I had a lovely nutella crepe and coke. Grant ordered what he thought was fruit juice (still don´t know what the word for strawberry is for his milk shakes, really should ask, lol). Anyway, when the spoon came we realised it wasn´t going to be juice, then a bowl of friut arrived which looked rather nice, however, full of melon and banana, both of which he dislikes! Really should buy a phrase book!

After the mall we had a walk through the park which is close by, and at the other end there is a market on for carnival time. We had a wonder round the market and sat in a bar watching the show on the stage. It was a guy and girl singing. They were doing songs like umbrella and angels, however, again even that was all in Portugese. However, it was a good atmosphere and there were people up doing latin type dancing.
