My weekend on Kangaroo Island
it was amazing! i loved it so much. I really want to go back in the Summer and do some Wwoofing there.
we were on a 2 hour coach ride to the ferry, with a miserable driver who got bad road rage! from there you had to get a 45min ferry...eurghh made me feel so sick!
when we got to the island we met our tour guide and got taken to a sheep sheering demonstrations, that was so interesting :) and they had a little puppy...cute!
stopped to do a walk up to the highest point on the island and you got amazing views.
went to Emu Range where they make their own Eucaliptus Oil, and they were also hand rearing a little joey (so cute) had lunch and got given quite a lot of wine as it was going off.
drove to seal bay, and you could get really close to the seals, it was cute. after that we tried sandboaring at little sahara! that was so good. i went down on my belly and they told me to lift my elbows up, so i lifted my arms up and perfected the sky diving bananna position - my board stayed where it was and i continued on going down the hill! hahah embarassing.
we then went to see some koalas/kangaroos and wallabys. you could get really close.
our accommodation was on a farm, we had a bbq and then sat round the fire drinking wine. went for a nocternal walk, saw some roo's and a possum. (i didnt realise they could climb trees)
Day 2 - Drove to flinders chase national park, saw the remarkable rocks (in picture) stopped at Wiers Cove to see how they used to bring supplies to the people who worked in the lighthouse and then walked to the lighthouse.
drove to see the new zealand fur seals, some really cute ones. stopped for lunch and kelly hills caves. did a bush walk and might have got a little bit lost. we ended up walking through the middle of the circle! haha stupid or what.
drove to viviennes bay and then to a honey farm, brought some honey comb chocolate - yummy!
Last stop was kingscote where we watched the pelicans being fed, it was so cool and we were sitting pretty close.
on the way to the ferry we stopped for fish and chips and then did a walk to find some penguins. no luck!
on the ferry back i nearly threw up! yuckkk... slept on the coach back into adelaide and then had to get packed to leave the next morning for alice springs!
AND THEN IT WOULD BE MY BIRTHDAY!
