Day 30 - 18May - logistics day spent most of the day getting to Belfast International Airport, dumping car, waiting and waiting and eventually flying to Edinburgh, catching the airport tram, rolling sedately along to the West End stop, stepping out and there was my old mate John Fulton himself! Less than 2yards away. It was great to see Hohn and of course the BS flowed while we walked to what John calls his flat’ in Moray Place - a palatial townhouse in Edinburgh’s 250yr old New Town. John’s partner Kristina welcomed me into the flat and I got the full tour - fascinating, grand old house, amongst a whole row of similar grand old places in these huge four storey buildings, nothing like it in NZ. We had a lot to catch up on all fuelled with cordon bleu food (yeh Kristina!), beer, wine, whisky (yeh John!). It was like a homecoming and eventually I fell into bed knackered. I doubt I’ll be able to keep up this level of action!!
