Day 25 - 13 May. Sam & Jeff moving on from Wokingham to Eastbourne - from cousin (Nigel) to cousin (Stephie Nicol). Nigel dropped us off at Pease Pottage on the M23 near Gatwick and lo and behold among the 1000s of cars there was Phil Jury (Steph’s husband) to pick us up. Was a great relief to once again have a capable native guide and it wasn’t long before we pulled up in front of 77 Vicarage Road. Eastbourne. It was like a homecoming to a place we’d never been before - Steph enveloped Sam & I in a warm Scottish welcome, a tour of the house, bags into the bedrooms and then lunch out in the backyard - very nice. Then it was back in the car and out to nearby beach at Birling Gap and views to the west of the Seven Sisters - 7 large white cliffs along the (stoney) beach. Then we walked along the Eastbourne Seafront towards the pier. Lots of selfies (see pic), looking for T shirts - and Sam finally got a good one with a huge Union Jack. Hoorah! Flushed with success we went to the Lamb pub (Phil’s local) for a pint of Harvey’s and then next door to the Spice Garden restaurant for a Lamb Goan. I’m getting to like this place already!!

robin hopkirk Keep them coming. I am very jealous of your wanderings. all are doing is catching and eating snapper . And debating the warming or not of the climate... groan. very fondly
Jeff Thanks Robin - sitting Gatwick Airport - bamboozled by the “easy” jet system. All my buddies have gone AWOL for a week or so.
