A lost and found day today, this morning received text message from Alex to say she had lost her passport and was turning the house upside down trying to find it. Subsequent texts confirmed she was unsuccessful and so could not get her flight! We are disappointed because we were looking forward to sailing with Alex for a week but sad for Alex who has a complicated itinerary for the next 3 months outside of the UK which will be now subject to the vagaries of the passport office.
Vilamoura is a marina full of motor boats and less yachts, some of the motor boats are in the multi-million pound bracket. The marina has the full selection of restaurants from Chinese, Japanese, Indian to local Portuguese and is a spot for the tourists to come to eat so heaving all day long. We felt Lagos was a shock compared to the rest of Portugal, Vilamoura is another level again.
On returning from dinner, I could not find the boat keys, could disaster strike twice in the same day? I definitely had them as it is not possible to lock the boat without them. I decided they must have fallen out of my pocket in the restaurant, so returned to look for them. They were not at the table but when I asked, I was told they had some keys. However these turned out to be some bodies car keys. Wait they had some more and tracked the waitress who had found them, she could not find where she had put them! Eventually she turned up with the keys and I left very relieved. Sue has told me she will be responsible for keys in future!
