Left Streaky Bay early, keen to get moving again. Stopped briefly at Ceduna and then for lunch at Yalata. Had originally planned to stop for the night there, but with nothing much to offer and it still being early in the day we decided to push on. Tully slept so that bought us more time and before we knew it we had reached the Nullarbor road house about 150kms further than planned. We travelled about 20kms on to the 164km Rest Stop, a true free camp with no amen...

Today was a consolidation day, washing, sorting and planning the next few days across the Nullarbor. We took time out to visit Murphy's Haystacks, inselberg rock formations about 40kms away. These were great to walk around and climb over. Tully was sad to leave the rocks but we told him there would be plenty more where we were going. Happy to be on the road again tomorrow, but still deciding on our final destination.

We left Nuttbush early with our first stop at Kimba, the halfway point across Australia and the home of the big galah. Here we ran into our new friends, Joel and Abelia with their kids, so Tully was pretty excited to run crazy with them again. On we went, stopping at Minnipa for lunch, a tiny town but with one good feature, a playground. Funnily, Joel and Abelia found us again and the kids had a ball playing together. Leaving Burra early we were happy to reach Orroroo for coffee and scones. Last stopped here with Bev and Haydn on our Oodnadatta trip and we were pleased that it was as good as we remembered. On from there to Port Augusta to stock up the cupboards and for Tully to get his last Macca's fix for a while. Were a bit undecided where to stop today but had read about a great camp ground near Iron Knob. Nuttbush Station turned out to be perfect. A little patch of grass ...

Big drive today. Stopped in Renmark for morning tea on the river. But the most exciting part of the day for Jarrod and I was a stop at Banrock Station. Amazing lunch and even better Shiraz. To top it off, Tully slept the last 2 hrs of the drive until we arrived in Burra. Camped at the Showgrounds for $15. Still deciding where the road will take us tomorrow!
