Unfortunately our stay in Bordeaux was cut short due to accommodation availability so we didn't feel like we had enough time to discover the real charm of the town and we didn't get the chance to go out to some of the local vineyards.

On our way back to our hotel in the evening we walked along the river and found that it was the place to be, every man and his dog was set up with a picnic and drinks in the late sun…so we did the same. We got all comfortable, pulled out a bottle of Bordeaux red wine, poured ourselves two healthy portions, said cheers to our beautiful location and then a huge dog barrelled through us. Ah the joys of travel.
