We arrived in San Sebastian on a Saturday with no accommodation booked and had a hell of a time trying to find something. San Sebastian is a lovely beachside town very popular for locals to get away for the weekend so every single hostel and hotel was full. While we dragged ourselves down every single street with heavy packs on we couldn't help but notice that every single bar was absolutely bursting with people drinking wine and eating tapas all day long which made it just that much harder to be stuck without a roof over our heads when we could see how much fun we could be having. We made sure we looked suitably desperate and helpless so that a local might want to help us out and we were in luck. A young guy stopped to help us and knew of a little old lady who rented rooms just around the corner. It turned out to be better than we could have hoped; right in the centre for a very good price we got a private room and use of her kitchen.
San Sebastian was a great little seaside town and was obviously a very popular weekend holiday spot for locals. We tried to see everything there was to see and then kicked back to join the rest of the town's population with some drinks on the main street.
