Jane and Malc's travels
We've just returned from the Abel Tasman National Park following the compulsory wine tasting in Blenheim after sailing to the South Island. We had a cracking tour with Ray, a 75 year old local who knew his stuff. A few sips of nice wine round the way were had by all involved. After that we headed up to Abel Tasman National Park. It is a must see. We took a walk around the coast followed by a few sun-downers on the beach front. The photos will follow! The scenery is fantastic. The cooking utensils in the chalet were not. Somehow we managed to cook a bbq chicken with potatoes and salad with no access to a cooker... we sneaked onto the BBQ out the back, cooked the potatoes in a cafetiere replacing the hot water every now and then, and then washed up in the bathroom sink with shower gel. Classy!!!
Anyhow, with the walk, the scenery, the weather and the moonrise and sun set it's been fantastic. We are now heading down the west coast of the South island to the glaciers of Franz Josef and Fox before winding our way to Queenstown.
Hope all is well.
