We are traveling from Itea to Athens and we will pass through 'The Corinthian Channel'. This channel is 6kms long and 23 meters wide. From the sea bed to the top of the cliff is about 40 meters. It is all man made and quiet extraordinary. It was first started by the Roman emperor Nero in 67AD. He is supposed to have the first strike with a gold pick. It is hot and sunny when we arrive in 'Marina Zea' near Piraeus. Athens is a bit overwhelming it seems to be limited to a six story height limit. Paul weighs anchor at 5am to cruise to Itea in the Gulf of Corinth so we can visit the renowned archeological site at Delphi. We learn on the way the site is open in summer (post June 1) at 8pm but they have recently changed to close at 3 pm. It's touch and go as we get to anchor off Itea at 1.30.
