Paul weighs anchor at 5am to cruise to Itea in the Gulf of Corinth so we can visit the renowned archeological site at Delphi.
We learn on the way the site is open in summer (post June 1) at 8pm but they have recently changed to close at 3 pm. It's touch and go as we get to anchor off Itea at 1.30. On our way here we passed under the longest suspension bridge in the world ,Rio-Andirio Bridge,it span is 2.25kls across the Gulf.
We race ashore at 1.40pm to get two taxis to Delphi, great racing driving by Lucas who gets us there by 2pm. We fast track tour through this magnificent archeological site and by luck and scheming by Randel, we get into the museum. This houses some of the wonders of the worlds most important archeological relics, including 'The Charioteer'.
We bought the captain a bronze statue of Posieden as a prize for great effort in getting us there. We found the people of Itea happy and friendly .
Everyone is now swimming and sun baking. Great day
JB and Mick.
