Arriving in Koh Phangan 4 days before hand we thought we'd have no problem finding accommodation, and 10,000 other people thought the same. After a long search we eventually found somewhere. Although we were paying well over the odds for our aluminous pink room, it was OK.This place was a refreshing chance from Phuket. The town was full of boutique clothing stores and restaurants showing movies all day long. It was also full of backpackers coming for the party. The beach was beautiful - much more what we thought Thailand would look like. The hills were full of jungle and the odd beach hut rather than apartment blocks and thanks god - no go-go bars. Jamie joined the Taffia. This was a team of Welsh rugby lads giving the game of beach soccer a go. Thinking we would be terrible, we actually got to the quarter finals - at the expense of leaving Rach on her own for 2 days. Before the full moon, there was a pre-warm session at a pool party. Never quite seen anything like it before. 300 hundred people crammed into a pond! Sundays full moon was pretty mental. The beach was lined with 10-15,000 people, all off their heads on buckets or 'mushie-shakes'. We also saw some disturbing sights not for the eyes of Dorothy to read! We headed home early hours of the morning only after Jamie had got a piece of wood stuck through his little toe. Looking at the size of the thing, we're still not sure how it got through his foot. But it didn't stop us getting a nice big fat chicken burger for breakfast though.
