Sorry we're a bit behind on our blogs, having too much fun! Got a telling off from Mum (Glynis) so thought we should update you all.
After our early morning flight, we arrived at our posh hotel with rooftop pool and a beautiful all you can eat breakfast, needless to say we got our moneys worth (the only time Rach was up before me).
Chiang Mai's a very Thai city, beautiful in some parts, and smells like sewage in others. We spent a morning walking round visiting the 'Wats' (temples). But after lunch abandoned this as once you've seen one, you've seen them all. Spent most the week being harrassed by Tuk-Tuk drivers. Did plenty of shopping and of course, lots of eating. Rach bought a wall hanging and Jamie 2 tailored suits which cost the same amount to be shipped home! And the guy even commented he had a fat arse, how dare he! Spent an afternoon at a zoo which wasn't too bad by Thailands standards. Most afternoons however were spent soaking up the rays by the ice cold pool as it reached high 30s.
As we only had 5 days in our luxury hotel, we moved on to start living our 'real' travelling experiences. It was however a lovely little place tucked away with wonderful gardens and really friendly staff. Sadly no pool or breakfast buffet, but it did have sky tv!
And on the following Monday, we were picked up to begin our adventures at the ele camp...we'll try not to make you wait too long for the next blog.
