Magnetic Island to Airlie Beach (12.08.2012): After breakfast we waved goodbye to our wonderful koala village and headed on the bus to Nelly Bay for the ferry terminal, catching the 11:15am ferry back to Townsville. We wandered around Townsville a little then got our 13:00 OZ experience bus to Airlie beach arriving at 16:30. This time we were the only ones on the bus! It's a shame as it would be much more fun with more people. Airlie beach looks kool. We shall have more time to explore it in a couple of days.

We are checked into BASE Hostel and have just arranged our trip to the Whitsundays - we leave tomorrow and will have two nights on board the "British Defender". We managed to get a standby rate but still couldn't really afford it but it seems to be a crime to do the East Coast and not go sailing around the Whitsundays. Let's hope it's worth it ah! I am so glad we are only here one night. This is our most party hostel yet. There is loud blarey dance music playing at the moment - I feel it will be going on all night. My ear plugs are not up to much against this racket. Gee I must be old! Bring on the sailing trip!
