On the 13th we got up relatively early ready for our day of travelling into Khao Sok national park. We were taken by car one hour to the Dam to meet our guide for the next two days and get our longtail boat out to the Rafthouses at Ton Tuey. The trip acorss the lake was beautiful - lots ot limestone hills and mountains covered in green and blue water surrounding them. Our guides name was Pom - his english was very good which is good because our Thai is not as good We arrived at the rafthouses at about 12pm. They are basic but authentic. All the houses and the restaurant are joined by floating walk ways. It took Jacqui a while to get used to these. after lunch Neen headed off with our guide to walk to a cave - jacqui decided not to do it as you would be up to your neck in water!!!! She instead had a lazy afternoon sleeping. Our dinner was lovely and we spent the evening chatting to the owners and the guides. Neen enjoyed a far few Sangsom's - thai whiskey which is more like rum!!!!
On the 14th we woke up early - 6.30am. Neen headed off for a monring Kayake and Jaq sorted herself out. She basically sat listening to the silence and watching the lake. Neen kayaked over to our house after an hour requesting a drink - it was bloody hot by this time only 9.30am. He then gave jacqui the surprise of her life. Jacqui bought Neen a tacky pressy for Valentine's day in South Africa - a slab of chocolate with U & Me written on it. Neen handed it to Jacqui - one month after on the rafthouse and it now read - Will U marry Me. Well the rest is histroy as they say of course i said yes so he got out a small bottle of South African Champagne. the story then unfolded - we saw a really nice ring in South africa and decided to buy it - yeap girls I got to choose my ring The ring had to be resized so whilst we did the Orangekloof walk across table mountain Jacqui's Mum and Dad picked it up. Neen had taken the choocie and the champgane all the way up the mountain and had planned to do it one the walk. When on the second day we never made it to the mountain he was going to ask Jacqui when they got to Kirstenbosch but she carried on walking with the guide while he tried to get all the stuff out!!!! Whoops. He was going to ask her in Graaff Reinet at an early BBQ in the valley of desolation but Jacqui wasn't to keen on going!!!!! Whoops Then the time had gone in south africa and he would have to find another time!!! Anyway back to the 14th March - after breakfast we went out on the boat for 1 hour and headed off on a 2 hour jungle walk. The boys climbed over roack to the viewpoint whilst Jacqui sat below - the knee still hurting for the table mountain walk. We drove 30 minutes to a shaded spot on the lake and had lunch and a swim. We were knackered by the time we got back so we headed off for an early dinner and early night
