On Friday night we drove to Adelaide right after school and went to Ikea. After Ikea we went to Chance Seely's house. He is a teacher that is on exchange. He happens to be from Olds...who would've guessed! We stayed the night at Chance's and awoke early to get to the wildlife park as it was going to be 41 degrees today!!
We got to the park and immediately saw a koala and many colorful birds. We bought some animal snacks to feed to the animals and Darren was acosted by 3 goats who obviously knew what was in the small, brown bag.
We walked through the Wallabies and fed some of them. They come right up and let you feed and pet them. They were very cute, soft, and friendly. After that it was on to the camels, that were looking lonely and homely so Darren gave them some goodies and they smiled nicely for a picture. Along next was the Kangaroo enclosure where we saw many small and large kangaroos and fed them too. This was very cool, especially since some of the Joeys were hanging out in their momma's pouches.
They only had an 11:30 "holding of the Koalas" so we went and waded through the rude, American tourists to be able to hold Ozzy. He was very soft and friendly. We were getting very hot so it was off to do some shopping in the air-con at Grove Mall. We met up with Chance again and headed downtown to Rundle Mall to find the lolly store which has Canadian and American candies...very cool.
Headed back to Clare where Layla fell asleep in the car. A great Saturday. Tomorrow is Darren's birthday and we are headed out to the beach for a barbecue again!
