Big day today! We slept well and opt to check out the EMP museum first to see the Nirvana exhibition that finishes up at the end of this year. Thrilled to discover it's only a 5-minute walk for us through the park which is home to the International Fountain. This fountain is awesome, it's where fans gathered when Kurt died, the place was packed that day and is famed for that memorable shot of grieving fans in unity.
It's outside the Key Arena where nirvana played 2 years before his death and it's beside the famous Space Needle (skyline landmark - remember Frasier?)
The exhibition is amazing... we have so much original memorabillia to browse we are there for quite some time. Matt is thrilled. Kurts original clothes, lyrics, letters and of course guitar are all on show.
Upstairs we discover that a star wars exhibition is also on! Geeks on patrol off we venture and we can't believe what is in store! The original Chewwy costume, C3PO, R2D2 and a lot of costumes from the Attack of the Clones.
Jacq then does some research, having been inspired by the Nirvana exhibition Matt wants to find the haunts they frequented. We find a bar called the Crocodile - where so many grunge bands played, Nirvana, Mud Honey, Hole... they have gigs here tomorrow night so we decide we will come back and opt for a drink whilst we chat to the bar staff.
