We lay in shattered and venture out in the car around 2pm to check out the town. We walk around the French Quarter again, down streets we'd not seen (it's so big!) and grab some food in a local cafe Jacq tries another traditional dish called po boy boudin - it's sausage meat wrapped in batter stuffed with rice - really tasty! We walk it off along the river catching sight of the last original steam boat on the Mississippi - called Natchez cruise boat.
It's gorgeous with a big red wheel rudder in the back it can fit up to 1200 people on board. We hop in the car and go for a little drive seeing the New Orleans bridge and driving past hoards of local families under the bridge who are having BBQs and watching their kids swimming in the Mississippi. We move on to a grocery store to stock up and head back to the motel to chill in front of the tv and book our Seattle hotel.
