Today we started the Gibb River road. We drove to Emma gorge and went on a 1.6 km walk. On the walk we nearly stepped on a tree snake. At the swimming hole and water fall we found some hot springs coming out of the wall and we also found three cane toads behind the waterfall. The water was cold but the springs were much warmer. When we were swimming at the back of the waterhole we climbed over a rock sticking out of the water and there was a 4 foot long freshwater croc just bobbing there. On the way back I caught a big skink and Will said that he just stepped over a snake! Luckily it was also a yellow tree snake. Then we drove to El Questro and set up there.

Nannette oh gosh.....nearly stepping on snakes....even if it was a tree snake... scary.... even being close to that freshie ..... they can still bite, can't they?
