The last 4 days we have been at Middle Lagoon. It is a very quiet, beautiful place. There are two beaches, one is called lagoon beach, we are camped near that, and the other is called ridge beach. We have to drive a bit to get there. Me and dad snorkelled around the point from lagoon beach to ridge beach. We saw 2 schools of long toms and lots of other cool fish. We also snorkelled around a coral reef. We touched the coral and it felt slimy. We also saw a big turtle, a sting ray, some coral trout and lots of other colourful fish. We also drove all the way up to Cape leveque to go on a tag along tour with an Aboriginal called Brian lee. He showed us how to catch mud crabs. You had to stick a metal stick into a big hole and if you hear a scraping noise like metal scraping on rock you have to try and get the crab out with the stick. He also showed us a few fishing holes. We caught 2 Trevally, a lot of estuary cod and 2 Mangove Jack which we ate for lunch the next day. The day after that we went down to the creek fishing and we caught a estuary cod that we had for tea that night. I enjoyed it here.

Nannette wow - you have had an adventure at Middle Lagoon, Jack. It would have been so interesting learning about how to catch the crab - did you get one? That is an interesting fact about the coral .... I thought that it would have a dry feeling even though it is in water.
