So I finally found my way to San Jose ……..It is a really big and busy city. The LP says 'a stopover in San Jose is regarded as a necessary evil' and I would wholehearted agree. We changed our flight tickets so that we could leave sooner. We also made the decision to travel separately. So this will be interesting. Me alone in South America - do you think someone should warn them?
A bonus was arriving at the hostel to find Oscar who had left the tour in Antigua. It was nice to meet up with him again. Myself, Oscar, Alana and Amelie went off on a walking tour of the city armed with one map. Amelie and Oscar had a bit of a tug of war with the map and at this point we didn't seem to be getting very far. Many discussions about where we actually were occurred before I stepped in wearing my ATL (Assistant Team Leader) hat and took the map. Now we were on our way. Just follow the water bottle please!!!!! It was actually a pretty town - squares; lovely buildings; parks and shops. Easily done in a couple of hours and then you have pretty much done everything there is to do in San Jose. We had a really good laugh and it was nice to be with people whom I really get along with.
In the evening Alana and Amelie cooked my last supper whilst I packed my bags. It was an absolutely superb meal. A salad with mustard and nhony dressing followed by pasta with a home made tomato sauce. Thank you girls. Finished off the evening swapping photos and watching 'The Proposal'. A perfect girly night in. I will miss them both.
