After getting up early and having some breakfast and a coffee we knew we had nowhere to stay tonight as of yet. The next few hours up until midday was hectic to say the least. There was not many hotels and ones that were available were either expensive or expensive to reach. Laura was getting pretty annoyed at this point but to her credit remained cool, calm and collected. We eventually settled on a cheap hotel called 'pada' and I had to make a few phone calls to negotiate a free transfer to the hotel which the very friendly receptionist organised. We collected our things and booked into the same hostel for our last two nights before we would eventually depart Koh Lanta.
The taxi pick up was very quick to arrive and we hopped aboard the tuk tuk and headed south down the island. We arrived about 15 minutes later and the friendly woman I spoke to earlier explained she only had a bungalow room free for tomorrow. This meant we would spend the night in the hotel rooms which had air conditioning. We were quite jammy because we had expected this and therefore pre paid the cheapest price on Agoda to ensure we got a more expensive room for the lower rate!! The room was spacious and clean and an absolute bargain for the price we had paid. Even better we had free use of the pool and practically private beach area in the sister resort next door. Without further a due we dropped our bags and headed straight for the pool and snagged the last couple of sun loungers available. The setting was amazing with the pool over looking the sea... The view was amazing and the beach practically empty.
After lounging in the pool we got chatting to an English family who had come to join their daughter who was traveling Australia and Asia. We spent the afternoon talking to them about various things and were later joined by a girl called Hannah who the English family had met on their trip. It was nice because they were a select few English people that we had met properly during our travels and made a refreshing change. The afternoon consisted of the pool, loungers and watching the beautiful sunset over the water in the evening.
After dark Laura and I hunted for a cheap eatery which proved difficult initially but then we spotted a promising one right near our hotel. Our instincts served us well as our red and green curries were cheap yet very tasty!! After our satisfying meal we headed back to the room and must of dozed off very quickly as tiredness set in whilst enjoying the cool air conditioned room.
