Hi everyone,
It sure is nice to get the great messages!!! We really look forward to your responces. As of this writing, Steve, Skylar, and I have now lived on the boat for 3 weeks! I must say, "living on a boat is not as easy as I thought it would be, and I continue to try an adjust to my new lifestyle Skylar is dealing with being seasick early every morning.....usually around 4:00 am". Steve continues to remind me that "everything will be okay" (even though the stock market is CRASHING!!!) We are leaving for Manchester England (via plane) on 3-18-08 to meet our new grandson! We are really excited! Skylar will hopefully be staying with a fellow sailor and his wife (who live on land) and have 12 rescued dogs! This will be a nice vacation for Skylar as well. We will return to Palacios, Texas on 4-10-08 and start taking our boat out into the bay/maybe even the Gulf of Mexico to practice, practice, and more practice until we are feeling more confortable! We didn't know this, but the Gulf of Mexico is considered to be the MOST DIFFICULT body of water in the world to sail.....the waters are shallow and have many different currents running through it, which makes it more like a washing machine effect (a top loader
) "They" say that if you can sail in the Gulf, you can sail anywhere in the world! To say the least, this scares the "??!?" out of me, but again.....Steve says we will take everything really slow and only sail on "perfect days".....hum.......
We will keep you all posted of our upcoming events! Again....it's really great hearing from everyone. Take good care! Love, Steve, Pam, and Skylar
