The weather is supposed to be decent Tues through Thurs so we are planning on taking off tomorrow (Tues) morning for an anchorage at Rabbit Island and then probably go to Gulfport, Mississippi and probably one more stop and then we'll should be in Florida. We'll update the blog when we get somewhere with internet. We have really enjoyed New Orleans! Met a lot of really nice people and have had a lot of fun!

We have settled into New Orleans. We really love it here! We've decided that we are actually enjoying the cruising lifestyle now! The weather has been stormy, so its giving us an excuse to stay even longer. We are staying at the New Orleans Municipal marina. We have a great slip in a wonderful location near buses and shopping. We have been major bus/street car riders going from one end of New Orleans to the other. We've been busy getting stuff for the boat...

Well....we are now in Harvey, LA about 4 miles west of the Harvey Locks and Mississippi River. We are watching the weather and waiting for the winds to stop blowing out of the east. It makes for a slow bumpy ride when you are trying to travel into the wind (an of course you can't sail either). We will be traveling across the wide open Mississippi Sound intead of traveling in the protected Intercoastal Waterway, once we get on the east side of New Orleans. The...

We have had a great few days in Houma, LA. The weather has been fantastic! We will be leaving Houma in the morning and heading towards New Orleans. We will probably anchor out in Lake San Salvador tomorrow night or Boomtown casino beforing heading through the Harvey Locks and Mississippi Sound. We checked the weather yesterday and they are saying that the nights are going to be in the 30's next week too. So we would either have to take off in the cold weather or pay for another month's of slip rent. We've been planning on going to England at the end of March. So we finally came to the realization that instead of trying to travel on the sailboat in the cold weather, we should go to England now and then head for Florida in the boat when it is warmer. So...
