We checked the weather yesterday and they are saying that the nights are going to be in the 30's next week too. So we would either have to take off in the cold weather or pay for another month's of slip rent. We've been planning on going to England at the end of March. So we finally came to the realization that instead of trying to travel on the sailboat in the cold weather, we should go to England now and then head for Florida in the boat when it is warmer. So...

We're still in Lake Charles. We were planning on leaving today, but now they are forecasting two cold fronts for this week... So we'll hang out a while longer. Its not much fun when its 30 degrees outside and you don't hae any heat. We've been checking out places to park for a while (if we get out of here) and Pensacola, FL and Orange Beach, AL are looking interesting. We're looking forward to getting somewhere warm with white sandy beaches.

We made it to Louisiana! We are happy to say that we have made it to a new state! We are in Lake Charles,LA. Staying at the Bridge Point Yacht Center. We bought bikes at Walmart, so we are ready to do some exploring on land! Its been great having shore power. We can run our electric heater now, so we shouldn't freeze to death.
