We have made the best of our last few days in the South of France.
Yesterday we drove to Frejus to go to Aqualand, a huge water park with lots of pools and water slides. Matthew and Oliver had a ball on the children's slides and Matthew was very keen to try out the big slides. Like everything in France in summer the queues were as impressive as the slides, but we did manage to find some slides which were open to children over 1 meter tall and without huge waiting times. Geoff went with Matthew to the top and came down first and Matthew came down by himself. He was very brave!
Last night Matthew and Oliver went to the pyjama club so that Geoff and I could enjoy a quiet dinner together at the on-site restaurant (an early birthday dinner for me). We both had the Daube Provencale, a beef and mushroom ragu which is a speciality of the region. I had a fabulous pear and champagne sorbet for dessert. So far I haven't found it too difficult to find food on the menus which doesn't contain dairy.
Our last day today has been a quiet one. We swam in the indoor jungle pool again this morning and then had a long swim in the big pools this afternoon. Matthew and Oliver are now very confidant with their swimming and despite wearing lots of sunscreen Matthew is now brown as a nut! Ollie is still quite pale with the occasional patch of pale pink where the sunscreen has worn off.
