Today we left our camping ground early and drove back to Avignon to catch the TGV to Paris. We managed to avoid the crazy traffic which seems to affect the roads in the South of France from mid morning, and made it to Avignon with plenty of time to spare, so we drove around the old walled town in Avignon and the "Pont D'Avignon" from the children's song.
After a very fast trip on the train, reaching speeds over 300 km/hr we arrived in Paris and took a taxi to our apartment. We booked the apartment through AirBNB and what a fabulous gem it has turned out to be. It is every bit as good as it looks on the website and the location is amazing, directly opposite the Louvre in the 1st arrondissement. Free wifi and international phone calls to fixed lines, and set up with everything we need to be self sufficient. Even a bottle of wine on arrival.
