Today was our first full day in our caravan park near Saint Raphael on the Cote D'Azure. Yesterday was a long day of driving. We set off from Saint Maurin just after 9am and we arrived at our destination around 7pm. We arrived in time to have a quick swim in the jungle themed toddler pool and watch the circus which was setting up for a performance in the playground. After dinner Matthew and Ilana wandered through the site looking at all the great things to do. There is a fantastic pool complex with 5 round pools of various depths, including a water slide into one of them. There is also a separate indoor toddler pool. We found the tennis courts, basketball courts, squash courts, table tennis, boules, mini golf, skate park, volleyball court, archery, riding stables, a bar, restaurant, a snack bar, mini supermarket, boutique, day spa..... This really is more like a resort than any caravan park I have ever been to in Australia. They even have cheesy entertainment provided by a group of young multi lingual staff (like Club Med).
This morning after breakfast, we set off to look around the local beaches in Agay. While Ilana went to do the food shopping, Matthew, Oliver and Geoff went for a swim at one of the local beaches. The water in the Mediterranean is very warm.
In the afternoon Matthew and Oliver went to the kids club to make some new friends, and then we all went to have a swim in the big pools and a play on the water slides.
