Ian & Claire's Adventure
Day 5
Today we went off on another early morning walk back along the same track towards Salvador lake and then onwards for a further 8 km to Otorongo lake to an observation tower to watch the giant otters. Unfortunatley this was pretty uneventful appart from the bizarre and rare Harlequin beetle that we saw. Oh well it was still the jungle.
After lunch we headed back again to Salvador Lake on an otter hunt. Noe and Oliver paddled us along the lake were we saw loads of monkeys (big black spider monkeys, red howler monkeys and brown capuchins) and thankfully a group of otters hunting fish and playing around. It was fantastic and a real highlight of the trip. We learnt from Oliver that the otters are large enough to hunt the Caiman. 2-3m caiman.
Another days adventure over, back to camp and an early night this time.
