Hola! Well we made it to Pisco, very relieved as Lima was becoming a bit stressful and this place is really relaxed and much more friendly, however the bus ride in had us a little worried as we drove through sand dunes and shanty towns for 3 1/2 hours,we werent quite sure what to expect. When we finally manage to upload some photos you^ll see that we were pleasantly suprised. We spent the afternoon wandering around this little place, booked our trip to the balestos islands for tomorrow, had our first bank experience,where you have to take a ticket and queue even though there is noone else waiting. Later we became the local attraction for the local kids and became very involved spectators of a very one sided game of football between our new young friends Jesus and Raul, very funny! We've found a nice hostal, done some washing but realise that drying it is quite difficult, even with our washing line, oh and Cov cheers for the universal sink plug advice! Take care everyone Adios Claire& Ian xx One for the guidebook, the bus drops you 3Km out of Pisco on a dusty road s/5 to centre, all you need is based around the plaza square, a double matromonial room with bathroom s/35, hostals easy to spot here, Denis at the Pisco hostal, speaksgood english(we are starting to think the only peruvian in this area, you really need basic latin american spanish but are pretty forgiving with your attempts) so good for advice on buses etc. We learned its $80 to Arequipa from Pisco but $40 from Ica which is only 1hr and s/8 from here.
