Ian & Claire's Adventure
We set off from pacific Harbour to Namouka Bay, this became a wild goose chace, even the bus drivers didnt want to take us as they'd never heard of it.
We finally went to Sigatoka and met Shamim the taxi driver who was a great guy, took us there and probably didnt charge enough, it was miles and miles off the Queens road. We arrived to a beautiful place, traditional Bure, totally quiet and secluded by the beach. We were met by Vanny who was so nice and Den her husband, they worked there. We went for a lovely stroll down the deserted beach after pitching our tent. That evening we had a great chicken curry and joined Den and Rajen (from Tamil) for our first taste of Kava, it was really funny, we were being formal and clapping when we shou;d but they didnt care, were very kava'd up. Den was making Rajen stay up and keep drinking. We sat and drank and talked for ages, they were quiet and didnt have great english but it was great fun. We got up to go to the tent and were feeling pretty relaxed, slightly dizzy with numb tongues and a belly full of dirty water. We slept very well that night.
Unfortunately the rest of the time is rained and rained hard so we spent all our time reading and hoping for sun, no such luck. We went snorkelling which was good till ians mask broke, and went on a long walk in the rain and got drenched but it was nice.
