Today we travelled from Horsham to Port Melbourne to board the Spirit of Tasmania for our 6 week stay in Tasmania.

It was about a 5 hour journey as we stopped at a few placed on the way from Horsham and we arrived about 2:30 pm. The traffic wasn't bad - I suppose because it was Sunday - and we negotiated the Westgate Bridge with no difficulties - thanks to TomTom. When we arrived at Port Melbourne though, it was packed! Beach goers - because it was a weekend and because it was a nice 33 degrees - flooded the area and traffic was a nightmare. We couldn't find anywhere to park the rig closeby but settled for a spot about 1.5km away.

Boarding went well and we have the car on deck 3 and Sandi in her kennel on deck 5 and we are in our cabin on deck 7. Allen is most concerned about the 'kid' and will be glad to see her in the morning.

We are due to dock about 6.30am Monday 2nd December 2013.
